House Blessing

House Blessing
Jesus said: Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and acts on them – I will show you what such a person is like. Such a person is like the man who, when he built a house, dug deep and laid the foundations on rock: when the river was in flood it bore down on that house but could not shake it; it was so well-built. But someone who listens and does nothing is like a man who built a house on soil, with no foundations; as soon as the river bore down on it, it collapsed; and what a ruin that house became.

Engr. Wilfredo Brual is one of the many OFWs attesting to the very good status of Filipino workers here in Nigeria. Last Sunday July 24, Willy, the HOD Projects and Business Control LNG and Power Business Division of AGIP (Naoc – Nigerian Agip Oil Co. Ltd), had his 3 –bedroom house at Elizade Tower, Central Business District FCT Abuja Nigeria blessed. Sister Marylou officiated the house blessing assisted by Sister Eflaida of MCST (Nunciature).
Close friends and The Migrants gathered and rejoiced with him.
After the house blessing, prayers were also offered for the birthday of the late Ana Cabrera Dador and for the departed grandmother of Renz Mercado, Luz Rosales.

Peace be with this house and with all who live here...
Blessing the entrance and the parlour: Nestor, Willy and Sr. Marilou; JT, Tikboy and Donald...
'O God, protect our going out and our coming in; Let us share the hospitality of this home with all who visit us, that those who enter here may know your love and peace.'
...at the living room: Otie, Rami, Nonits, JT, Tikboy: Willy, Sr. Marylou, Maris, Tess, Khaye, Lyn,Jr, Sr. Efling
'O God, give your blessings to all who share this room, that we may be knit together in companionship.'
...and the rite continues - going towards the dining room and kitchen...
...at the kitchen and the pantry...
'O God, you fill the hungry with good things. Send your blessings on us, as we work in this kitchen, and make us ever thankful for our daily bread.'

Master's bedroom
'Protect us Lord, as we stay awake; watch over us as we sleep, that awake we may keep watch with Christ, and asleep, we may rest in His peace.'

Guest room

Children's room
'You formed us in wisdom and love. Refresh us in body and in spirit, and keep us in good health that we might serve you.'

Dining Room
'Blessed are you Lord of heaven and earth, for you give us food and drink to sustain our lives and make our hearts glad. Help us to be grateful for all your mercies and mindful of the needs of others.'

Post ABL: The Best of the Ambassador Basketball League

THE BEST OF THE AMBASSADOR BASKETBALL LEAGUE

APRIL 3 - JUNE 5, 2011
ABUJA, FCT, NIGERIA, WEST AFRICA
...as the footsteps of a basketball player recedes into view, so are the moments of joy, sportsmanship and camaraderie...
POST AMBASSADOR BASKETBALL LEAGUE
As the last echo of the chatters faded, blended with the rustling of the leaves, and the scent of the green grasses so fresh from the previous night’s rain melted and fused in the air, the beautiful moments formed and forged during the games will remain in the memory of all those who joined, those who cheered and those who worked in the background.
The calabash tree became a haven for the loyal fans, the luxurious grasses, their cushions.
The cooperation among players and the organizers IS unparalleled - especially for a first time event like this. Willy Brual and Gilbert Bernados led this event into fruition. It was a delight to watch before a game the helping hands extended – ‘kabalikat, kapuso, kaagapay’  - carrying tables, chairs, sound system, all the paraphernalia in the game. And every game ending, the same process was applied – nobody is ordered around – everybody instinctively and good-naturedly did the chores of clearing and cleaning the site and cheerfully anticipating…’sa Linggo ulit…’
Each one involved in this event earned the respect and friendship of one another. Though people have short memory span, the goodness experienced during the games will last longer.
Each game was duly documented by The Migrants.
...'may the force be with you'...
