The Filipino community in Abuja bade a final farewell to the Queen of Hearts of the Filipinos. The mass officiated by the Papal Nuncio Msgr. Renzo with Fr. Raymond, was celebrated at the Philippine Embassy on the 6th of August.

With deepest regret and sorrow, we, the Executive Officers, Board of Trustees and members of PUSONG PINOY ASSOCIATION in Abuja FCT, Nigeria, wish to send through this letter, our sympathies and condolence on the passing away of your dear and humble mother, President Corazon Aquino. She was an icon of democracy not only in our dear country but all over the world. Indeed, she was an exemplary leader and this is the legacy she left behind for future leaders to emulate. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Also, may you, the family she left behind bear her passing away and have the strength and courage to move on and continue her legacy. She was indeed gone, but her thoughts and ideals will remain with us for a long, long time.
