After almost two years, the promise to donate food and other household items to the needy had been redeemed.
On the 22nd of July, after office hours, Pusong Pinoy officers and members heeded the call of Benjie Nadado, PPA president, to pack the items. These were earlier bought by Mrs. Anna Dador, the current Asst. Treasurer and Property Custodian, and her daughter Khaye.
Although, it was threatening to rain, the group merrily packed the items, what with the very delicious pancit, of course, prepared by Anna. And with the stomach progress duly administered, the work progressed and was soon ready for delivery.
Anna measuring the rice, equal talaga...
and Sherwin, Khaye and John systematically putting the items inside each bucket..(ewan naman kung ano ang order ni Nestor)

Homeward Bound
Embassies would always be a safe haven for nationals wherever they find themselves. The seafarers who encountered problems (such as non-payment of salaries and other mishaps) in Nigeria were rescued by the Philippine embassy.
Since Con-Gen Alex V. Lamadrid assumed his post, his baptism of fire proved him worthy of his salt. The seafarers rescued from the different vessels plying the Horn of Africa were just as grateful for their lives as the roof on their heads with board in tow.
As a set is saved and goes home, another set comes. This has been going on for five months now.
Con-Gen Lamadrid offers gratitude and prayers to the Almighty for every Filipino seafarer saved and sent back to every family waiting for them. Twenty-seven seafarers already arrived home safely.
Pictures below show them joining the Independence Day celebrations. They are also shown here while bidding goodbye to the host who cared for them.

HOUSE BLESSING AND OTHER BLESSINGS
JUNE CELEBRATIONS
It was a fitting culmination of the June celebrations. June 28 was chosen by Con-Gen. Alex V. Lamadrid for the blessing of his official residence. From his house, the blessing, conducted by Msgr. Jean of the Nunciature, was extended to the Philippine Embassy. Here, the celebration continued. It was also the birthdays of Lito and Alyssa who was so pretty in lilac dress. Lito donated Lechon and Alyssa had a very big birthday cake.
It was also the induction of the new set of PPA officers. A surprise awarding of certificate of appreciation was given to Filipinos and almost Pinoy (Rosa Ilic) for contribution rendered to the success of the Independence day. The stranded seamen were also there and participated in the celebration.
